I was hearing so much talk about Fitbit watches that I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I ordered my Fitbit off Amazon.com and received $50 off when I opened up a credit card through Amazon. Yes, I use Amazon that much. There are so many other watches like the Polar Fitness watch or the Apple Watch, but I decided to go with the Fitbit. My first reason is because it’s not as expensive as an apple watch and I haven’t really heard a lot about Polar Fitness watches. There are different types of Fitbit’s as well. I purchased the HR Fitbit because it was cheaper and I felt like I didn’t need all of the upgraded stuff that is on the other Fitbit’s. I also got my Fitbit in black because it matches everything I wear, but they do come in more colorful colors too. So there you go! I purchased a Fitbit.
So is it worth it?
I try to be an active person. During the school year I try to workout around 3 times a week. Granted I said I TRY. Once the school year is over it costs money to use the Rec center at my school and I am a broke college student. So during the summer I try to go on runs and do some simple stuff at my apartment. Once again I said I TRY. Finding the motivation to workout is difficult, but that’s a whole different blog post.
You’re supposed to take 10,000 steps a day. Which maybe it doesn’t seem like a lot, but sometimes it is when you sit at a desk all day or have another job where you just don’t move a lot. Your Fitbit tells you how many steps you take and when you reach 10,000 steps your Fitbit vibrates. How motivational is that! Everyday I do everything in my power to reach 10,000 steps or more. Your Fitbit also tells your the number of steps, your heart rate, the distance you’ve gone, and how many calories you’ve burned. However, on the Fitbit app if you wear it when you’re sleeping it tells you how you’ve slept. Meaning when you are restless at night your Fitbit can tell and it tracks that. It also tracks how many times you wake up in the middle of the night. You can track how much water your drink, along with the food you eat. Finally, you can track your exercise.
So if you’re wondering if buying a Fitbit is worth it, the answer is yes. My Fitbit makes me want to workout, when I probably wouldn’t of. Or go on that run that I really didn’t feel like going on. It makes me move throughout the day when I probably wouldn’t have.
Thank you Fitbit for giving me the motivation when I can’t find the motivation myself.
