Title: True Believer
Author: Nicholas Sparks
Published Date: October 18, 2015
Sometimes I am almost embarrassed to admit how much I enjoy Nicholas Sparks books, but man do I love them! Maybe it is the hopeless romantic in me. Or the fact that they are super unrealistic and they would never ever in a million years happen in real life. But that is what makes them so great. It is almost comforting to read about such passionate love. I have read so many this summer, but sadly I just started blogging again so I haven’t had a chance to give them a book review.
True Believer is about Jeremy, a science journalist who is from and lives in New York City and Rachel a librarian, who lives in Boone Creek, North Carolina. Jeremy debunks supernatural causes for a living, which is why he ends up in Boone Creek, North Carolina. He is trying to debunk these flashing lights at a cemetery, that are apparently supposed to be ghosts. But the last thing Jeremy thought he would find is Lexie, someone who is mysterious to him, and he can’t seem to stop thinking about her while he is in Boone Creek. She is like no one he has ever met before. Lexie is afraid to let her guard down, because she has been hurt by men similar to Jeremy and she realizes that he is ultimately is going to leave and go back to New York City in the end. But does Lexie end up letting her guard down to let Jeremy in? And Jeremy needs to decide if Lexie is worth giving up his entire life in New York City. Will Jeremy end up being a true believer? Or will he just go back to his old ways.
I enjoyed this book! It wasn’t my favorite Nicholas Sparks books, but it was an easy read and I always enjoy a good romance novel. Sparks always finds a way to tug at the readers heart strings. There is actually a second book as well called At First Sight, which I started today! So that will be my next book review. I definitely recommend this book if you want an uplifting easy read!
